Conocida como “La grabación de estudio de la década”, Duets el álbum más rompedor y exitoso de Frank Sinatra se publicó originalmente en 1993, uniendo bajo el mismo techo a artistas como Charles Aznavour, Anita Baker, Tony Bennett, Bono, Natalie Cole, Gloria Estefan, Aretha Franklin, Kenny G, Julio Iglesias, Liza Minnelli, Carly Simon, Barbra Streisand y Luther Vandross para la grabación de un álbum que marcaría tendencias, que incluía temas que instantáneamente asociamos al “presidente” del álbum, el mismo Sinatra.
Para conmemorar el 20º aniversario de este álbum rompedor, multi-platino, Capitol/Universal Music publicaran Frank Sinatra: Sinatra Duets – 20º Anniversary, el 19 de noviembre de este mismo año, y nos traerán así los duetos originales y su continuación Duets II, remasterizados y con extras especiales.

Estará disponible en tres formatos:
• Super Deluxe Box Set que incluye Duets y Duets II en 2 vinilos de 180 gramos, tres CDs entre ellos Duets y Duets II con contenido extra y material inédito y un CD de duetos clásicos – el álbum descartado que contenía sus actuaciones en programas de ABC desde 1957 hasta 1960- y un DVD que incluía entrevistas, el EPK oficial del álbum y un video promocional de “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” con Bono, más un libreto tamaño LP de 20 páginas con fotos de archivo y notas, en una caja única y cuidada hasta el más mínimo detalle.
• Edición Deluxe de 2 CD con contenido extra y temas inéditos y un booklet de 32 páginas con fotos de archivo y notas.
• LP Doble, que incluye las versiones originales de Duets y Duets II en un vinilo de 180 gramos en una cubierta limitada.

Además de estas tres ediciones, Capitol/Universal Music también publicaran Best Of Duets, un álbum de 14 temas, que recoge las mejores colaboraciones de Duets y Duets II y el bonus track “My Way” con colaboración de Luciano Pavarotti.
Sinatra grabo los temas “live” con una orquestra compuesta por 54 músicos en los estudios de Capitol, de la misma forma que grabo sus primeros álbumes. Utilizando una técnica pionera para la industria de la música, gracias a la tecnología digital, los compañeros de duetos de Sinatra, pudieron grabar sus voces desde otros estudios, permitiéndoles unir su voz a la del maestro. Duets hizo historia, no solo por las técnicas usadas, y por las artes creadas por LeRoy Neiman, sino por ser el álbum más vendido del año, con más de 1,3 millones de ventas, colocando así a Sinatra, que en ese momento tenía 77 años en el Nº2 del Billboard Chart, justo entre Pearl Jam “Vs”, y Meatloaf “Bat Out Of Hell II”.
Su exitosa continuación, Duets II, se publicó al año siguiente, en el participaron Jimmy Buffett, Neil Diamond, Lena Horne, Chrissie Hynde, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Patti LaBelle, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, Luis Miguel, Lorrie Morgan, Willie Nelson, Linda Ronstadt, Jon Secada, Frank Sinatra Jr., Stevie Wonder y Gladys Knight.
